Hadith 1089:15
Hushaym narrated to us, from Mughirah, from Abu Ma‘shar, from Ibrahim, from Qarth‘a al-Dabbi, from Salman al-Farisi, who said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to me: "Do you know what Friday is?" I said: "It is the day on which Allah gathered your father [Adam]." He said: "But I know what Friday is. No man purifies himself and perfects his purification, then comes to the Friday [prayer] and remains silent until the Imam finishes his prayer, but it will be an expiation for him for what is between it and the next Friday, as long as the major sins are avoided."
حدثنا هشيم، عن مغيرة، عن أبي معشر، عن إبراهيم، عن قرثع الضبي، عن سلمان الفارسي، قال: قال لي النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: " أتدري ما يوم الجمعة؟ " قلت: هو اليوم الذي جمع الله فيه أباكم، قال: " لكني أدري ما يوم الجمعة، لا يتطهر الرجل فيحسن طهوره، ثم يأتي الجمعة، فينصت حتى يقضي الإمام صلاته، إلا كان كفارة له ما بينه وبين الجمعة المقبلة ما اجتنبت المقتلة "
