Hadith 1089:18
Abu Usamah narrated to us, Mis'ar informed me, 'Umar ibn Qays narrated to me, from 'Amr ibn Abi Qurrah al-Kindi, who said: My father offered his sister to Salman, but he refused, and he married a freedwoman of his called Buqayrah. He said: It reached Abu Qurrah that there was something between Salman and Hudhayfah, so he came to him seeking him, and he was informed that he was in a vegetable patch of his. He headed toward him and met him while he had a basket with him containing vegetables, having inserted his staff into the handle of the basket, and it was upon his shoulder. He said: "O Abu 'Abd Allah, what was between you and Hudhayfah?" Salman said: "{And man is ever hasty} [Al-Isra: 11]." They set off until they reached the house of Salman. Salman entered the house and said: "Peace be upon you." Then he gave permission [to enter]. There was a mat placed at the door, and at its head were some bricks, and there were two earrings. He said: "Sit on the bedding of your freedwoman which she prepares for herself." He said: Then he began to speak to him. He said: "Hudhayfah used to narrate things that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, would say in his anger toward some people. I would ask about them, and I would say: 'Hudhayfah is more knowledgeable about what he says,' and I disliked that there should be grudges between people. Hudhayfah was approached and it was said to him: 'Salman neither believes you nor disbelieves you regarding what you say.' So Hudhayfah came to me and said: 'O Salman, son of the mother of Salman.' I said: 'O Hudhayfah, son of the mother of Hudhayfah, you will either desist or I will write to 'Umar.' When I frightened him with 'Umar, he left me alone." And the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "I am from the children of Adam. So whichever believing servant I have cursed with a curse, or insulted with an insult, when he is not deserving of it, then make it a prayer for him."
