Hadith 1089:19
Yahya ibn Zakariya ibn Abi Za'idah narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq narrated to us, from 'Asim ibn 'Umar ibn Qatadah, from Mahmud ibn Labid, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: Salman narrated to me, saying: I brought food to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, while I was a slave, and I said: "This is charity." He ordered his companions, and they ate, but he did not eat. Then I brought him food and said: "This is a gift I have gifted to you to honor you with, for I have seen that you do not eat charity." He ordered his companions, and they ate, and he ate with them.
حدثنا يحيى بن زكريا بن أبي زائدة، حدثنا محمد بن إسحاق، عن عاصم بن عمر بن قتادة، عن محمود بن لبيد، عن ابن عباس، قال: حدثني سلمان، قال: أتيت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم بطعام وأنا مملوك فقلت: هذه صدقة " فأمر أصحابه فأكلوا ولم يأكل "، ثم أتيته بطعام فقلت: هذه هدية أهديتها لك أكرمك بها فإني رأيتك لا تأكل الصدقة، " فأمر أصحابه فأكلوا وأكل معهم "
