Hadith 1089:24

Hassan ibn Musa narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, Ibn Abi Ja'far narrated to us, from Aban ibn Salih, from Ibn Abi Zakariya al-Khuza'i, from Salman al-Khayr, that he heard him while he was speaking to Shurahbil ibn al-Simt, while he was stationed at the coast, saying: I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, saying: "Whoever stations (in ribat) for a day or a night, it is for him like the fasting of a month for one who is sitting. And whoever dies while stationed in the way of Allah, Allah will cause his reward to continue for him as he used to do: the reward of his prayer, his fasting, and his spending, and he will be protected from the tempter of the grave, and he will be secure from the Greatest Terror."
