Hadith 1089:30
'Affan narrated to us, Qays ibn al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Uthman ibn Shabur—a man from Banu Asad—narrated to us, from Shaqiq, or the like (Qays was uncertain), that a man entered upon Salman, so he invited him to whatever he had. He said: "Were it not that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) forbade us—or were it not that we were forbidden—that any one of us should put himself to trouble for his companion, we would have put ourselves to trouble for you."
حدثنا عفان، حدثنا قيس بن الربيع، حدثنا عثمان بن شابور، رجل من بني أسد، عن شقيق، أو نحوه، شك قيس، أن سلمان دخل عليه رجل فدعا له بما كان عنده، فقال: " لولا أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم نهانا، أو لولا أنا نهينا، أن يتكلف أحدنا لصاحبه لتكلفنا لك "
