Hadith 1089:8
Hushaym narrated to us, from Mansur, from al-Hasan, who said: When Salman was dying, he wept and said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) entrusted us with a covenant, but we have abandoned what he entrusted us with, which is that the provision of one of us from this world should be like the provision of a traveler." He said: Then we looked at what he left behind, and the value of what he left was twenty-something dirhams, or thirty-something dirhams.
حدثنا هشيم، عن منصور، عن الحسن، قال: لما احتضر سلمان بكى وقال: " إن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عهد إلينا عهدا فتركنا ما عهد إلينا أن يكون بلغة أحدنا من الدنيا كزاد الراكب " قال: ثم نظرنا فيما ترك فإذا قيمة ما ترك بضعة وعشرون درهما، أو بضعة وثلاثون درهما . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
