Hadith 296:4
Waki' narrated to us, he said: Sufyan narrated to us, from 'Asim al-Ahwal, from Hafsah, from al-Rabab Umm al-Ra'ih bint Sali', from Salman ibn 'Amir al-Dabbi, he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "If one of you breaks his fast, let him break it with dates, for if he does not find any, let him break it with water, for it is purifying."
حدثنا وكيع، قال: حدثنا سفيان، عن عاصم الأحول، عن حفصة، عن الرباب أم الرائح ابنة صليع، عن سلمان بن عامر الضبي، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " إذا أفطر أحدكم فليفطر على تمر، فإن لم يجد فليفطر على ماء، فإنه طهور "
