And from the Hadith of Samurah ibn Jundab (RA), from the Prophet (SAW)
ومن حديث سمرة بن جندب (1) ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم
Hadith 799:151
Abu Kamil narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, from Humayd, from al-Hasan, from Samurah ibn Jundub: "That the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, used to remain silent for two silences: when he entered into the prayer, and when he finished the recitation." Imran ibn Husayn denied that, so they wrote to Ubayy ibn Ka'b asking him about that. He wrote back that Samurah spoke the truth.
حدثنا أبو كامل، حدثنا حماد، عن حميد، عن الحسن، عن سمرة بن جندب، " أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يسكت سكتتين إذا دخل في الصلاة، وإذا فرغ من القراءة "، فأنكر ذلك عمران بن حصين، فكتبوا إلى أبي بن كعب يسألونه عن ذلك، فكتب أن صدق سمرة
