Hadith 458:18
Hushaym narrated to us, Khalid informed us, from Abu Qilabah, from Abu al-Ash'ath al-San'ani, from Shaddad ibn Aws, that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Indeed, Allah the Almighty has prescribed excellence (ihsan) upon everything. So when you kill, do the killing well, and when you slaughter, do the slaughtering well. Let one of you sharpen his blade, and let him comfort his sacrificial animal."
حدثنا هشيم، أخبرنا خالد، عن أبي قلابة، عن أبي الأشعث الصنعاني، عن شداد بن أوس، أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " إن الله عز وجل كتب الإحسان على كل شيء، فإذا قتلتم فأحسنوا القتلة، وإذا ذبحتم فأحسنوا الذبحة ، وليحد أحدكم شفرته، وليرح ذبيحته "
