Hadith 458:29
Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, he said: Shu'bah narrated to us, from Khalid, from Abu Qilabah, from Abu al-Ash'ath, from Shaddad ibn Aws, he said: Two things I memorized from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, that he said: "Indeed, Allah has prescribed excellence (ihsan) in all things. So when you kill, do the killing well, and when you slaughter, do the slaughtering well. Let one of you sharpen his blade, and let him comfort his sacrificial animal."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر، قال: حدثنا شعبة، عن خالد، عن أبي قلابة، عن أبي الأشعث، عن شداد بن أوس، قال: ثنتان حفظتهما من رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، أنه قال: " إن الله كتب الإحسان على كل شيء، فإذا قتلتم فأحسنوا القتلة، وإذا ذبحتم فأحسنوا الذبيحة ، وليحد أحدكم شفرته، وليرح ذبيحته "
