Hadith 458:3
Isma'il narrated to us, from Khalid al-Hadhdha', from Abu Qilabah, from Abu al-Ash'ath, from Shaddad ibn Aws, who said: Two things I memorized from the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace): "Indeed, Allah the Almighty has prescribed excellence (ihsan) in all things. So, when you kill, do the killing well, and when you slaughter, do the slaughtering well. Let one of you sharpen his blade, and let him comfort his sacrificial animal."
حدثنا إسماعيل، عن خالد الحذاء، عن أبي قلابة، عن أبي الأشعث، عن شداد بن أوس، قال: ثنتان حفظتهما عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم. " إن الله عز وجل كتب الإحسان على كل شيء، فإذا قتلتم فأحسنوا القتلة، وإذا ذبحتم فأحسنوا الذبح، وليحد أحدكم شفرته، وليرح ذبيحته "
