Hadith 458:8
Haytham ibn Kharijah narrated to us, Isma'il ibn 'Ayyash narrated to us, from Rashid ibn Dawud al-San'ani, from Abu al-Ash'ath al-San'ani, that he went early to the mosque of Damascus, and he went early in the morning. He met Shaddad ibn Aws and al-Sanabihi with him. I said: "Where do you both intend to go, may Allah have mercy on you?" They said: "We intend to go here to a brother of ours who is ill, to visit him." I went with them until they entered upon that man. They said to him: "How have you reached the morning?" He said: "I have reached the morning in a blessing." Shaddad said to him: "Receive glad tidings of the expiation of sins and the removal of misdeeds, for I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, say: 'Indeed, Allah the Almighty and Majestic says: If I afflict a servant of My servants who is a believer, and he praises Me for what I have afflicted him with, then he rises from that bed of his like the day his mother gave birth to him, free of sins. And the Lord, Almighty and Majestic, says: I bound My servant and afflicted him, so record for him [the reward of the deeds] as you used to record for him while he was healthy.'"
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
