Musnad Ahmad 539:4

Abu Sa’id, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, Thabit narrated to us, ‘Asim narrated to us, from Abu Munib, that ‘Amr ibn al-‘As said regarding the plague in the last sermon he delivered to the people: "Indeed, this is an abomination like a flood; whoever avoids it, it misses him. And it is like fire; whoever avoids it, it misses him, but whoever remains, it burns him and harms him." Shurahbil ibn Hasana said: "Indeed, this is the mercy of your Lord, the supplication of your Prophet, and the taking of the righteous before you."
