Musnad Ahmad 936:11

Abdullah narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq ibn Muhammad al-Musayyibi narrated to us, Anas ibn Iyad narrated to us, from Yunus ibn Yazid, who said: Ibn Shihab said: Anas ibn Malik said: Ubayy ibn Ka'b used to narrate that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The roof of my house was opened while I was in Makkah, and Jibril descended. He opened my chest, then washed it with Zamzam water. Then he brought a golden basin filled with wisdom and faith, and he poured it into my chest, then closed it. Then he took my hand and ascended with me to the heaven. When he reached the lowest heaven, he asked for it to be opened. It was said: 'Who is this?' He said: 'Jibril.' It was said: 'Is there anyone with you?' He said: 'Yes, Muhammad is with me.' It was said: 'Has he been sent for?' He said: 'Yes.' So it was opened. When we rose above the lowest heaven, there was a man with black shapes on his right and black shapes on his left. When he looked to his right, he smiled, and when he looked to his left, he wept. He said: 'Welcome to the righteous Prophet and the righteous son.' I said to Jibril: 'Who is this?' He said: 'This is Adam, and these black shapes on his right and left are the souls of his offspring. Those on the right are the people of Paradise, and the black shapes on his left are the people of the Fire. So when he looks to his right, he laughs, and when he looks to his left, he weeps.' Then Jibril ascended with me until he reached the second heaven. He said to its guardian: 'Open.' The guardian said to him the same as the guardian of the lowest heaven had said, so he opened it for him." Anas ibn Malik said: He mentioned that he found in the heavens Adam, Idris, Musa, Isa, and Ibrahim, but he did not confirm for me their exact stations, except that he mentioned he found Adam in the lowest heaven and Ibrahim in the sixth heaven. Anas said: When Jibril and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed by Idris, he said: "Welcome to the righteous Prophet and the righteous brother." I said: "Who is this?" He said: "This is Idris." Then I passed by Musa, and he said: "Welcome to the righteous Prophet and the righteous brother." I said: "Who is this?" He said: "This is Musa." Then I passed by Isa, and he said: "Welcome to the righteous Prophet and the righteous brother." I said: "Who is this?" He said: "This is Isa ibn Maryam." Then I passed by Ibrahim, and he said: "Welcome to the righteous Prophet and the righteous son." I said: "Who is this?" He said: "This is Ibrahim." Ibn Shihab said: Ibn Hazm informed me that Ibn Abbas and Abu Habba al-Ansari say: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Then I was ascended until I appeared at a level where I could hear the scratching of the pens." Ibn Hazm and Anas ibn Malik said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Allah enjoined fifty prayers upon my nation." He said: "I returned with that until I passed by Musa, and he said: 'What did your Lord enjoin upon your nation?' I said: 'He enjoined fifty prayers upon them.' Musa said to me: 'Return to your Lord, for your nation cannot endure that.'" He said: "So I returned to my Lord, and He reduced half of it. I returned to Musa and informed him, and he said: 'Return to your Lord, for your nation cannot endure that.'" He said: "So I returned to my Lord, the Mighty and Majestic, and He said: 'They are five, and they are fifty; the word is not changed with Me.'" He said: "So I returned to Musa, and he said: 'Return to your Lord.' I said: 'I have become shy before my Lord.'" He said: "Then he took me until he brought me to the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary (Sidrat al-Muntaha)." He said: "And it was covered with colors, I do not know what they are." He said: "Then I was admitted into Paradise, and therein were domes of pearls, and its soil was musk."
