Hadith 1116:1
'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, Sulayman ibn al-Mughirah narrated to us, from Thabit, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Layla, from Suhayb, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "I am amazed at the decree of Allah for the believer. Indeed, the entire affair of the believer is good, and that is not for anyone except the believer. If good fortune befalls him, he gives thanks, and it is good for him. And if adversity befalls him, he shows patience, and it is good for him."
حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن مهدي، حدثنا سليمان بن المغيرة، عن ثابت، عن عبد الرحمن بن أبي ليلى، عن صهيب، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " عجبت من قضاء الله للمؤمن، إن أمر المؤمن كله خير، وليس ذلك إلا للمؤمن إن أصابته سراء فشكر، كان خيرا له، وإن أصابته ضراء فصبر، كان خيرا له "
