Hadith 1116:6
Zakariya ibn 'Adi narrated to us, 'Ubayd Allah ibn 'Amr narrated to us, from 'Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn 'Aqil, from Hamzah ibn Suhayb, from his father, who said: He said to 'Umar: As for your saying that I have taken a kunya (patronymic) while I have no child, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, gave me the kunya Abu Yahya. As for your saying that there is extravagance in my food, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "The best of you is the one who feeds food," or "those who feed food."
حدثنا زكريا بن عدي، حدثنا عبيد الله بن عمرو، عن عبد الله بن محمد بن عقيل، عن حمزة بن صهيب، عن أبيه، قال: فقال لعمر: أما قولك اكتنيت وليس لك ولد، فإن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم كناني أبا يحيى، فأما قولك فيك سرف في الطعام، فإن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " خيركم من أطعم الطعام، أو الذين يطعمون الطعام "
