Hadith 684:3
'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from Shu'bah, and Ibn Ja'far said: Shu'bah narrated to us, from Qays ibn Muslim, who said: I heard Tariq ibn Shihab saying: "I saw the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and I participated in military expeditions during the caliphate of Abu Bakr and 'Umar, numbering forty-something or thirty-something, between major expeditions (ghazwah) and minor expeditions (sariyyah)." Ibn Ja'far said: "Thirty-three or forty-three, from major expeditions to minor expeditions."
حدثنا عبد الرحمن، عن شعبة، وابن جعفر، قال: حدثنا شعبة، عن قيس بن مسلم، قال: سمعت طارق بن شهاب يقول: " رأيت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، وغزوت في خلافة أبي بكر وعمر بضعا وأربعين، أو بضعا وثلاثين من بين غزوة وسرية " وقال ابن جعفر: " ثلاثا وثلاثين أو ثلاثا وأربعين من غزوة إلى سرية "
