Hadith 676:2
Hajjaj ibn Muhammad and Muhammad ibn Ja’far narrated to us, they said: Shu’bah narrated to us, from Simak ibn Harb, from ‘Alqamah ibn Wa’il, from his father Wa’il ibn Hujr al-Hadrami. Hajjaj said: He witnessed the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and a man from Khath’am called Suwayd ibn Tariq asked him. And Ibn Ja’far said: Or Tariq ibn Suwayd al-Ju’fi, he asked the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, about Khamr (intoxicants)? So he forbade him. Then he mentioned the Hadith.
حدثنا حجاج بن محمد، ومحمد بن جعفر، قالا: حدثنا شعبة، عن سماك بن حرب، عن علقمة بن وائل، عن أبيه وائل بن حجر الحضرمي، قال حجاج: إنه شهد النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، وسأله رجل من خثعم يقال له: سويد بن طارق، وقال ابن جعفر: أو طارق بن سويد الجعفي، سأل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، عن الخمر؟ فنهاه. فذكر الحديث
