Musnad Ahmad 576:1

Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, from ‘Adi ibn Thabit, from Zayd ibn Wahb, narrating from Thabit ibn Wadi‘ah, from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace: A man came to him with some dabb (lizards) that he had hunted. He began looking at one of the dabb, then said: "A nation was transformed [into animals], and I do not know, perhaps this is one of them."
