Hadith of Thabit ibn Yazid ibn Wada‘ah (RA)

Hadith 576:3

'Affan narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from 'Adi ibn Thabit, from Zayd ibn Wahb, from Thabit ibn Wadi'ah: That a man from Banu Fazarah came to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, with dhabb (lizards). He said: He began turning a dhabb of them over between his hands, and said: "An ummah was transformed." He said: And the extent of my knowledge is that he said: "I do not know, perhaps this is one of them." Shu'bah said: And Husayn said, from Zayd ibn Wahb, from Hudhayfah, he said: He mentioned something similar to this. He said: "He did not command it, and he did not forbid anyone from it."
