Hadith 981:36
Abu al-Nadr narrated to us, al-Mubarak narrated to us, Marzuq Abu Abd Allah al-Homsi narrated to us, Abu Asma al-Rahbi informed us, from Thawban, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, who said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "The nations are about to call upon one another against you, just as those who eat call one another to their bowl." We said: "O Messenger of Allah, will it be because of our small number on that day?" He said: "You will be many on that day, but you will be like the scum of a torrent. Fear will be removed from the hearts of your enemies, and weakness will be placed in your hearts." We said: "And what is the weakness?" He said: "Love of this life and hatred of death."
حدثنا أبو النضر، حدثنا المبارك ، حدثنا مرزوق أبو عبد الله الحمصي، أخبرنا أبو أسماء الرحبي، عن ثوبان مولى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " يوشك أن تداعى عليكم الأمم من كل أفق كما تداعى الأكلة على قصعتها ". 10 قال: قلنا: يا رسول الله، أمن قلة بنا يومئذ؟ قال: " أنتم يومئذ كثير، ولكن تكونون غثاء كغثاء السيل، تنتزع المهابة من قلوب عدوكم، ويجعل في قلوبكم الوهن ". قال: قلنا: وما الوهن؟ قال: " حب الحياة وكراهية الموت "
