Hadith 981:40
Muhammad ibn Bakr narrated to us, Maymun informed us, Muhammad ibn ‘Abbad narrated to us, from Thawban, from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, who said: "Verily, the servant seeks the pleasure of Allah, and he continues to do so. Then Allah says to Gabriel: 'Verily, such-and-such servant of Mine seeks to please Me. Behold, My mercy is upon him.' Then Gabriel says: 'The mercy of Allah is upon such-and-such person.' And the bearers of the Throne say it, and those around them say it, until the inhabitants of the seven heavens say it. Then it descends for him to the earth."
حدثنا محمد بن بكر، أخبرنا ميمون، حدثنا محمد بن عباد، عن ثوبان، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " إن العبد ليلتمس مرضاة الله فلا يزال بذلك، فيقول الله لجبريل: إن فلانا عبدي يلتمس أن يرضيني ألا وإن رحمتي عليه، فيقول جبريل: رحمة الله على فلان، ويقولها حملة العرش، ويقولها من حولهم حتى يقولها أهل السماوات السبع، ثم تهبط له إلى الأرض "
