Hadith 981:6
Husayn ibn Muhammad narrated to us, Ibn ‘Ayyash narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn al-Muhajir, from al-‘Abbas ibn Salim al-Lakhmi, who said: ‘Umar ibn ‘Abd al-‘Aziz sent for Abu Salam al-Habashi and brought him to him via the postal service to ask him about the Basin (al-Hawd). When he arrived, he asked him, and he said: I heard Thawban say: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, say: "My Basin is from ‘Adn to ‘Amman of al-Balqa’. Its water is whiter than milk and sweeter than honey, and its drinking vessels are the number of the stars. Whoever drinks a single drink from it will never thirst thereafter. The first of the people to arrive at it will be the poor of the Emigrants (al-Muhajirin)." ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab said: "Who are they, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "They are those with disheveled hair and dirty clothes, who do not marry women of luxury, and for whom the doors of the palaces are not opened." ‘Umar ibn ‘Abd al-‘Aziz said: "I have indeed married women of luxury, and the doors of the palaces have been opened for me, unless Allah has mercy on me. By Allah, I shall certainly not oil my head until it becomes disheveled, and I shall not wash my garment that is next to my body until it becomes dirty."
