Hadith 981:60
Zayd ibn al-Hubab narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, Abu al-Zahiriyah narrated to me, from Jubayr ibn Nufayr, from Thawban, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) slaughtered an animal for sacrifice for himself, then he said to me: "O Thawban, prepare the meat of this sheep." He said: So I continued to feed him from it until he arrived in Medina.
حدثنا زيد بن الحباب، حدثني معاوية بن صالح، حدثني أبو الزاهرية، عن جبير بن نفير، عن ثوبان مولى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: ذبح رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أضحية له، ثم قال لي: " يا ثوبان، أصلح لحم هذه الشاة " قال: فما زلت أطعمه منها حتى قدم المدينة
