Musnad Ahmad 1012:107

He said: I heard Sufyan ibn ‘Uyaynah naming the Nuqaba (the Chieftains), and he named ‘Ubadah ibn al-Samit among them. Sufyan said: “‘Ubadah was of the ‘Aqabah, of Uhud, of Badr, and of the Tree (al-Hudaybiyah), and he was a Naqib (Chieftain).”
