Musnad Ahmad 1012:129

Abdullah narrated to us, Abdullah bin Salim al-Kufi al-Mafluj—who was trustworthy—narrated to me, Ubaydah bin al-Aswad narrated to us, from al-Qasim bin al-Walid, from Abu Sadiq, from Rabi’ah bin Najid, from Ubadah bin al-Samit, that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to take a tuft of hair from the side of a camel from the spoils of war and say: "I have no share in it except like what one of you has from it. Beware of misappropriation (ghulul), for misappropriation is a disgrace upon its owner on the Day of Resurrection. Return the thread and the needle, and whatever is greater than that. Strive in the way of Allah, the near and the far, in residence and in travel, for Jihad is a door from the doors of Paradise; through it, Allah saves [a person] from worry and distress. Establish the prescribed punishments (hudud) of Allah upon the near and the far, and let not the blame of a blamer affect you regarding Allah."
