Musnad Ahmad 1012:13

Sufyan narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Abu Idris al-Khawlani, from Ubadah ibn al-Samit, who said: We were with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, in a gathering, and he said: "Pledge allegiance to me that you will not associate anything with Allah, nor steal, nor commit adultery, nor kill your children." He recited the verse that was taken from the women: {If the believing women come to you} [al-Mumtahanah: 12]. "Whoever among you fulfills this, his reward is upon Allah. Whoever commits any of that and is punished for it, then it is an expiation for him. And whoever commits any of that and Allah conceals it for him, then his affair is with Allah; if He wills, He will forgive him, and if He wills, He will punish him." Sufyan said: Al-Hudhali said to me: "Memorize this hadith for me, for it is with al-Zuhri." Al-Hudhali, Abu Bakr, said to me: "He has never narrated anything like this at all," meaning al-Zuhri.
