Musnad Ahmad 1012:24

Waki’ narrated to us, Mughirah ibn Ziyad narrated to us, from ‘Ubadah ibn Nasi, from al-Aswad ibn Tha’labah, from ‘Ubadah ibn al-Samit, who said: I taught some people from the People of the Suffah writing and the Quran. One of them gifted me a bow, so I said: "It is not wealth, and I will shoot with it in the way of Allah." Then I asked the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and he said: "If it pleases you to be encircled with a collar of fire, then accept it."
