Hadith of ‘Ubadah ibn al-Samit (RA)

Hadith 1012:3

Ismail ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, Khalid al-Hadhdha’ informed us, from Abu Qilabah. Khalid said: I think he mentioned it from Abu Asma’, who said: Ubadah ibn al-Samit said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) took a pledge from us, just as he took a pledge from the women, regarding six things: "That you shall not associate anything with Allah, you shall not steal, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not kill your children, you shall not slander one another, and you shall not disobey me in what is good. Whoever among you commits any of these and receives his punishment for it, it is an expiation for him. But if it is delayed for him, then his affair is with Allah; if He wills, He will punish him, and if He wills, He will have mercy on him."
