Musnad Ahmad 1012:43

Ali ibn Abdullah ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Anas ibn Iyad Abu Damra narrated to me, he said: Abd al-Rahman ibn Harmala narrated to me, from Ya'la ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Hurmuz, that Abdullah ibn Abbad al-Zuraqi informed him that: He used to hunt sparrows in Bi'r Ihab, and it belonged to them. He said: Ubadah ibn al-Samit saw me while I had taken a sparrow, so he snatched it from me and released it, and said: "O my son, indeed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) declared sacred what is between its two lava fields, just as Ibrahim declared Makkah sacred."
