Musnad Ahmad 1012:63

'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi and Bahz narrated to us, they said: Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Jabalah ibn 'Atiyyah, from Ibn al-Walid ibn 'Ubadah ibn al-Samit, from his grandfather, 'Ubadah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever goes out to fight in the way of Allah, and intends nothing in his expedition but a hobbling rope, then he shall have what he intended." Bahz said in his narration: Jabalah ibn 'Atiyyah narrated to us, from Yahya ibn al-Walid ibn 'Ubadah.
