Musnad Ahmad 1012:89

Ya'qub narrated to us, my father narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq, Yazid ibn Abi Habib narrated to me, from Marthad ibn Abdullah al-Yazani, from Abu Abdullah Abd al-Rahman ibn Usaylah al-Sanabahi, from Ubadah ibn al-Samit, who said: I was among those who attended the first [pledge of] al-Aqabah, and we were twelve men. We pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, upon the pledge of women, and that was before war was made obligatory, upon: "That we do not associate anything with Allah, we do not steal, we do not commit adultery, we do not kill our children, we do not bring forth a slander that we fabricate between our hands and our feet, and we do not disobey him in what is good. If you fulfill this, then for you is Paradise; and if you commit any of that, then your affair is with Allah: if He wills, He will punish you, and if He wills, He will forgive you." *** Harun narrated to us, Ibn Wahb narrated to us, Malik ibn al-Khayr al-Zabadi narrated to me, from Abu Qubayl al-Ma'afiri, from Ubadah ibn al-Samit, that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "He is not of my nation who does not honor our elder, show mercy to our young, and recognize the right of our scholar." Abdullah said: And I heard it from Harun.
