Hadith of ‘Ubadah ibn al-Samit (RA)
Hadith 1012:93
'Abd al-Samad narrated to us, Thabit narrated to us, from 'Asim, from Salman—a man from the people of al-Sham—from Junadah, from 'Ubadah ibn al-Samit, who said: I entered upon the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to visit him while he was suffering from a pain, the intensity of which only Allah knows. Then I entered upon him in the evening, and he had recovered in the best of recoveries. I said to him: "I entered upon you in the morning and you were suffering from a pain, the intensity of which only Allah knows, and I entered upon you in the evening and you have recovered." He said: "O son of al-Samit, Jibril performed *ruqyah* (incantation) upon me with a *ruqyah* by which I recovered. Shall I not teach it to you?" I said: "Yes." He said: "In the name of Allah, I perform *ruqyah* upon you, from everything that harms you: from the envy of every envier and from the evil eye. In the name of Allah, He heals you."
