Narrated to us by Muhammad ibn Ja’far, who said: Narrated to us Shu’bah, from Qatadah, who said: I heard ‘Abdullah ibn Abi ‘Utbah narrating from Abu Sa’id al-Khudri, from ‘Umar ibn Abi Salamah, that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saw a man eating with his left hand. He said to him: "Eat with your right hand." He replied: "I cannot." He said: "May you not be able to," for nothing prevented him except arrogance. He said: And he was never able to raise his right hand to his mouth after that.
