Musnad Ahmad 465:1

Haywah ibn Shurayh and Yazid ibn Abd Rabbih narrated to us, they said: Baqiyyah ibn al-Walid narrated to us, Buhayr ibn Sa’d narrated to me, from Khalid ibn Ma’dan, Jubayr ibn Nufayr narrated to us, that ‘Umar al-Jumahi narrated to him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "If Allah intends good for a servant, He employs him before his death." A man from the people asked him: "What is 'employs him'?" He said: "He guides him, Mighty and Majestic is He, to righteous action before his death, then He takes his soul upon that."
