Hadith of Umayr ibn Salamah al-Damri (RA)
Hadith 74:1
Hushaym narrated to us, he said: Yahya ibn Sa’id informed us, from Muhammad ibn Ibrahim, he said: ‘Isa ibn Talhah ibn ‘Ubayd Allah informed me, from ‘Umayr ibn Salamah al-Damri, that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) passed by al-‘Arj, and there he was with a wounded donkey. It was not long before a man from Bahz came and said: "O Messenger of Allah, this is my shot, so do with it as you wish." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) ordered Abu Bakr, and he divided it among the companions. Then he traveled until he reached the mountain pass of Athayah, and there he was with a gazelle that had an arrow in it, and it was curled up in the shade of a rock. The Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) ordered a man from his companions and said: "Stand here until the companions pass by, so that no one shoots it with anything."
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
