Musnad Ahmad 1181:3

Surayj narrated to us, he said: Fulayh narrated to us, from Ayyub ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Sa'sa'ah al-Ansari, from Ya'qub ibn Abi Ya'qub, from Umm al-Mundhir bint Qays, she said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) entered upon me, and with him was Ali ibn Abi Talib, and Ali was recovering from an illness. She said: We had hanging bunches of dates, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and Ali stood and began eating from them. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) began saying: "Slowly, for you are recovering," until Ali stopped. She said: I had prepared barley and chard. When we brought it, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to Ali: "Eat from this, for it is more suitable for you." So they both ate from that.
