Hadith 1207:2
Yahya ibn Ishaq and Qutaybah ibn Sa'id narrated to us, they said: Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, from Bukayr ibn 'Abdullah ibn al-Ashajj, from Busr ibn Sa'id, who said: I heard Umm al-Tufayl—Qutaybah said: the wife of Ubayy ibn Ka'b—that she heard 'Umar ibn al-Khattab and Ubayy ibn Ka'b disputing. Umm al-Tufayl said: "Should 'Umar ibn al-Khattab not ask Subay'ah al-Aslamiyyah: 'Her husband died while she was pregnant, and she gave birth a few days after that, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) permitted her to marry'?"
حدثنا يحيى بن إسحاق، وقتيبة بن سعيد، قالا: حدثنا ابن لهيعة، عن بكير بن عبد الله بن الأشج، عن بسر بن سعيد قال: سمعت أم الطفيل قال قتيبة: امرأة أبي بن كعب أنها سمعت عمر بن الخطاب، وأبي بن كعب يختصمان فقالت أم الطفيل: أفلا يسأل عمر بن الخطاب سبيعة الأسلمية: " توفي عنها زوجها وهي حامل فوضعت بعد ذلك بأيام فأنكحها رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم "
