The Hadith of Umm Atiyyah al-Ansariyyah, whose name is Nusaybah (RA)

حديث أم عطية الأنصارية واسمها نسيبة

Hadith 1250:2

Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, he said: 'Asim al-Ahwal narrated to us, from Hafsah, from Umm 'Atiyyah, who said: When this verse was revealed: "That they will not associate anything with Allah" [Al-Mumtahanah: 12], up to His saying: "And will not disobey you in what is right" [Al-Mumtahanah: 12], she said: It included wailing. She said: So I said, "O Messenger of Allah, except for the family of so-and-so, for they had helped me in the pre-Islamic period (Jahiliyyah), so I must help them." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Except for the family of so-and-so."

حدثنا أبو معاوية، قال: حدثنا عاصم الأحول، عن حفصة، عن أم عطية قالت: لما نزلت هذه الآية: {على أن لا يشركن بالله شيئا} [الممتحنة: 12] إلى قوله {ولا يعصينك في معروف} [الممتحنة: 12] قالت: كان فيه النياحة، قالت: فقلت: يا رسول الله، إلا آل فلان، فإنهم قد كانوا أسعدوني في الجاهلية، فلا بد لي من أن أسعدهم، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " إلا آل فلان "
