Hadith 906:8
Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, 'Asim narrated to us, from Hafsah, from Umm 'Atiyyah, who said: When this verse was revealed: "That they will not associate anything with Allah" [Al-Mumtahanah: 12], up to His saying: "And that they will not disobey you in what is right" [Al-Mumtahanah: 12], she said: Among them was wailing. I said: "O Messenger of Allah, except for the family of so-and-so, for they had helped me in the pre-Islamic period (Jahiliyyah), so I must help them." She said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Except for the family of so-and-so."
حدثنا أبو معاوية، حدثنا عاصم، عن حفصة، عن أم عطية، قالت: لما نزلت هذه الآية: {يبايعنك على أن لا يشركن بالله شيئا} [الممتحنة: 12] إلى قوله: {ولا يعصينك في معروف} [الممتحنة: 12] ، قالت: كان منه النياحة، فقلت: يا رسول الله، إلا آل فلان، فإنهم قد كانوا أسعدوني في الجاهلية، فلا بد لي من أن أسعدهم، قالت: فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " إلا آل فلان " . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
