Hadith 906:9
Abu Sa’id narrated to us, Ishaq bin ‘Uthman al-Kilabi Abu Ya’qub narrated to us, Isma’il bin ‘Abd al-Rahman bin ‘Atiyyah al-Ansari narrated to us, from his grandmother Umm ‘Atiyyah, who said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) arrived in Medina, he gathered the women of the Ansar in a house. Then he sent ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab to them. He stood at the door and gave the greeting of peace, and they returned the greeting to him. He said: "I am the messenger of the Messenger of Allah to you." We said: "Welcome to the Messenger of Allah and the messenger of the Messenger of Allah." He said: "Do you pledge allegiance that you will not associate anything with Allah, nor commit adultery, nor kill your children, nor bring forth a slander that you fabricate between your hands and your feet, nor disobey him in what is good?" We said: "Yes." We extended our hands from inside the house, and he extended his hand from outside the house. Then he said: "O Allah, bear witness." He commanded us regarding the two Eids to bring out the virgins and the menstruating women, and he forbade following funeral processions, and there is no Friday prayer upon us. I asked her about His saying: {And will not disobey you in what is good} [Al-Mumtahanah: 12]. She said: "We were forbidden from wailing."
حدثنا أبو سعيد، حدثنا إسحاق بن عثمان الكلابي أبو يعقوب، حدثنا إسماعيل بن عبد الرحمن بن عطية الأنصاري، عن جدته أم عطية، قالت: لما قدم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم المدينة، جمع نساء الأنصار في بيت، ثم بعث إليهن عمر بن الخطاب، قام على الباب، فسلم، فرددن عليه السلام، فقال: أنا رسول رسول الله إليكن، قلنا: مرحبا برسول الله، ورسول رسول الله، قال: " تبايعن على أن لا تشركن بالله شيئا، ولا تزنين، ولا تقتلن أولادكن، ولا تأتين ببهتان تفترينه بين أيديكن وأرجلكن، ولا تعصينه في معروف؟ "، قلنا: نعم، فمددنا أيدينا من داخل البيت، ومد يده من خارج البيت، ثم قال: " اللهم اشهد، وأمرنا بالعيدين أن نخرج فيه العتق، والحيض، ونهى عن اتباع الجنائز، ولا جمعة علينا "، وسألتها عن قوله: {ولا يعصينك في معروف} [الممتحنة: 12] ، قالت: " نهينا عن النياحة "
