Hadith of Umm Bujayd (RA)

Hadith 1224:3

Hashim ibn al-Qasim narrated to us, al-Layth narrated to us, Sa’id—meaning al-Maqburi—narrated to me, from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Bujayd, of the Banu Harithah, that his grandmother, who was Umm Bujayd—and she was among those who pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace)—narrated to him. She said to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace): "By Allah, a poor person stands at my door, and I do not find anything to give him." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said to her: "If you do not find anything to give him except a scorched hoof, then place it into his hand."
