Musnad Ahmad 1244:5

Yunus ibn Muhammad narrated to us, he said: Layth—meaning Ibn Sa'd—narrated to us, from Yazid—meaning Ibn al-Had—from 'Abd al-Wahhab, from Ibn Shihab, from Humayd ibn 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Awf, from his mother, Umm Kulthum bint 'Uqbah, who said: "I did not hear the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, grant a concession for anything of lying except in three: A man who says a statement by which he intends reconciliation, a man who says a statement in war, and a man who speaks to his wife, and a woman who speaks to her husband."
