Hadith of Umm Salamah (RA), the wife of the Prophet (SAW)
حديث أم سلمة زوج النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم
Hadith 1156:0
Narrated Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace: She said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "There is no servant who is afflicted with a calamity and says what Allah has commanded him: 'Indeed, we belong to Allah and to Him we shall return. O Allah, reward me in my affliction and replace it for me with something better than it,' except that Allah replaces it for him with something better than it." She said: When Abu Salamah died, I said: "Who among the Muslims is better than Abu Salamah? His household was the first to migrate to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace." Then I said it, so Allah replaced him for me with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. She said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, sent Hatib ibn Abi Balta'ah to propose to me on his behalf. I said: "I have a daughter, and I am a woman who is very jealous." He said: "As for her daughter, we will supplicate to Allah to make her independent of us, and I will supplicate to Allah to remove the jealousy from her."
