Musnad Ahmad 1156:124

Husayn narrated to us, he said: Khalaf—meaning Ibn Khalifah—narrated to us, from Layth, from Alqamah ibn Marthad, from al-Ma’rur ibn Suwayd, from Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say: "When sins appear in my nation, Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, will cover them all with a punishment from Himself." I said: "O Messenger of Allah, are there not righteous people among them on that day?" He said: "Yes." She said: "Then what will happen to them?" He said: "They will be afflicted by what afflicted the people, then they will return to a forgiveness from Allah and His pleasure."
