Hadith of Umm Salamah (RA), the wife of the Prophet (SAW)
Hadith 1156:147
'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ibn Jurayj informed us, he said: Habib ibn Abi Thabit informed me that 'Abd al-Hamid ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Abi 'Amr and al-Qasim informed him that they both heard Abu Bakr ibn 'Abd al-Rahman reporting that Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, informed him that when she arrived in Medina, she informed them that she was the daughter of Abu Umayyah ibn al-Mughirah. They disbelieved her and said, "How lying are the strangers!" until some people among them set out for Hajj, so they said, "What will you write to your family?" She wrote with them, and they returned to Medina believing her, and her honor increased among them. She said: "When I gave birth to Zaynab, the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, came to me and proposed to me. I said, 'Someone like me is not married; as for me, I have no child in me, I am jealous, and I have dependents.' He said, 'I am older than you. As for the jealousy, God the Almighty will remove it. As for the dependents, they are for God and His Messenger.'" So he married her. He used to come to her and say, "Where is Zanab?" until 'Ammar ibn Yasir came one day and snatched her away, saying, "This one prevents the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace," and she was nursing her. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, came and said, "Where is Zanab?" Quraibah bint Abi Umayyah, who happened to be with her, said, "'Ammar ibn Yasir took her." The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, "I am coming to you tonight." She said: "I stood up and took out some grains of barley that were in a jar, and I took out some fat and cooked it for him." She said: "The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, spent the night, and when he woke up in the morning, he said, 'You have honor among your family. If you wish, I will stay with you for seven days, and if I stay with you for seven days, I will stay with my wives for seven days.'"
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
