Musnad Ahmad 1156:225

Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, he said: Hammad ibn Salamah informed us, from Thabit al-Bunani, he said: Ibn Umar ibn Abi Salamah narrated to me, in Mina, from his father, from Umm Salamah, she said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever is afflicted with a calamity, let him say: 'To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return. O Allah, with You I seek the reward for my calamity, so reward me for it and replace it for me with something better than it.'" When Abu Salamah died, I said it. I began, whenever I reached: "and replace it for me with something better than it," to say to myself: "And who is better than Abu Salamah?" Then I said it. When her waiting period ended, Abu Bakr sent to her to propose to her, but she did not marry him. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent Umar ibn al-Khattab to her to propose to her on his behalf. She said: "Inform the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that I am a jealous woman, and I am a woman with children, and there is no one among my guardians present." He came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and mentioned that to him. He said: "Return to her and say to her: 'As for your saying that you are a jealous woman, I will supplicate to Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, and He will remove your jealousy. As for your saying that you are a woman with children, your children will be provided for. And as for your saying that there is no one among your guardians present, there is no one among your guardians, present or absent, who dislikes this.'"
