Musnad Ahmad 1245:0

Narrated to us by Muhammad ibn Ja’far, who said: Narrated to us by Shu’bah, from ‘Amr ibn Dinar, who said: I heard Ibn ‘Abbas say: The mother of the child of Shaybah ibn ‘Uthman narrated to me that she was sitting with the Prophet (peace be upon him) when a woman came and said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have vowed to strike a duff (hand drum) over your head." He said: "Fulfill your vow." She struck it. Then Abu Bakr entered while she was striking it, then ‘Ali entered while she was striking it, then ‘Uthman entered while she was striking it. Then ‘Umar entered, so she threw the duff beneath her and sat upon it. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Indeed, the Shaytan fears you, O ‘Umar. I was sitting and she was striking, and Abu Bakr entered and she was striking, and ‘Ali entered and she was striking, and ‘Uthman entered and she was striking. But when you entered, O ‘Umar, she threw it down."
