Hassan narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, 'Amr ibn al-Harith narrated to us, from 'Amr ibn Shu'ayb, that the freed slave of Sharhabil ibn Hasana narrated to him, that he heard 'Uqbah ibn 'Amir and Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman saying: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Everything that your bow returns to you." Harun ibn Ma'ruf narrated to us—'Abdullah said: "And I think that I heard it from him"—he said: Ibn Wahb narrated to us, 'Amr informed me, that Hisham ibn Abi Ruqayyah narrated to him, he said: I heard Maslamah ibn Mukhallad while he was sitting on the pulpit addressing the people, and he was saying: "O people, is there not in wool and linen what suffices you instead of silk? And here is a man among you who informs you about the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). Stand up, O 'Uqbah." So 'Uqbah ibn 'Amir stood up, and I was listening, and he said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) say: 'Whoever lies about me intentionally, let him take his seat in the Fire.'" And I bear witness that I heard him say: "Whoever wears silk in this world, he is forbidden from wearing it in the Hereafter."
