Musnad Ahmad 482:23

Qutaybah ibn Sa'id narrated to us, he said: Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, from al-Harith ibn Yazid, from 'Ali ibn Rabah, from 'Uqbah ibn 'Amir, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Indeed, these lineages of yours are not a means of reviling anyone. You are only the children of Adam, like the rim of a vessel that you have not filled. No one has superiority over another except through religion or righteous deeds. It is sufficient for a man to be obscene, foul-mouthed, stingy, and cowardly."
